On October 8 in Klichev and on October 10 in Krasnopole, the Mogilev region were held introductory seminars of the project "Public-Private Partnership in Action" funded by the U.S. Embassy Small Grants Program and implemented by the International Foundation for Rural Development.
During the seminar, the participants were introduced to the goals, objectives and expected results of the project. Of a particular interest was the presentation of the pilot areas (micro-regions of development) "Ostrova Dulebi" and "Paluzh Reservoir": the description of the current situation, the development potential and vision of the future. It is expected that the composition of the consortium (project working group) will be agreed and approved in the near future and an action plan for the next few months will be presented for discussion.
The event was attended by the representatives of the District Executive Committees, the Departments of Labor, Employment and Social Protection, the forestry, the Education Departments, the Inspection of Environmental Protection, the tourism, the chairmen of Rural Councils, the local entrepreneurs and the leaders of the initiative groups.
With the support of this project, it is planned to develop and, if possible, begin the implementation of the territorial development models (project proposals) based on the prospects for the development of these micro-regions agreed by the local community with the participation of business, local authorities and other stakeholders. According to the Director of the Local Foundation "Start East": "the chosen approach to the development of small areas (micro-regions) is the most correct, especially with the involvement of resources both public and private. After all, only together and not trying to do a lot of things at a time you can achieve a specific result."
The event is implemented within the framework of the project "Public-Private Partnership in Action", implemented by the International Foundation for Rural Development with the financial support of the US State Department within the framework of the US Embassy Small Grants Program in the Republic of Belarus (Agreement S-BO492-18-402 of April 10, 2018). The project is registered in the Department of Humanitarian Assistance of the Administrative Departement of the President of the Republic of Belarus (certificate No. 03-08/442 of 10.09.2018).
