A number of trainings on the preparation for the first stage of the Call for Proposals "Local initiatives for micro-regions of development" was held in the Klichev, Bykhov, Slavgorod, Krasnopole and Cherikov districts of the Mogilev region on April 17-24th, 2019. The trainings were held within the framework of the project "Networking for Improvement of Job Opportunities in the Rural Areas of the Mogilev Region"1 (hereinafter the Project) funded by EU.
The training program aims to improve the competencies of the representatives of the local communities on the application of the territorially-oriented approaches towards the development at the local level.
The event was attended by the local authorities, local residents, local NGOs, farmers, entrepreneurs, as well as local assistants.
As a result of the trainings, the representatives of the local communities increased their competence in the formation and development of initiatives for micro-regions of development based on the needs and potential of the territory. Moreover, during the training, the target audience learned to prepare the description of the micro-region of development and its key facilities, to identify strengths and weaknesses, as well as to develop an image of the micro-region of development desired future, to determine the main priorities, activities, deadlines, results and, equally important, to determine the sustainability of the results. Thus, conditions and mechanisms are gradually being created in the areas, which now and in the future begin to contribute to the strengthening of public-private partnership, as well as to the growth of the local population employment and self-employment rate of, which is the key Project objective.
